Former Danish race car driver with the current record for most wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with 9 wins, 6 of which were consecutive. He also holds the record for the most wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring, with 6 wins. In August 2014, he was appointed Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog by the Queen of Denmark. In January 2018 he was inducted into the Danish Sports Hall of Fame. In 2019 he was inducted into the FIA Hall of Fame. He retired in 2014.' He was born in Hobro, Denmark. He started racing in 1984. In the 90's he traveled to Japan and Germany to race in the Formula 3, where he was champion of both.
