American hockey player who was thrust into a starting role after Montreal Canadiens' star Carey Price went down with an injury in 2015. He made his NHL debut opposite goalie Matt O'Connor, who was also making his first career start. After playing four years at Princeton University, he successfully tried out for the Ontario Reign of ECHL, leading to a contract with the Canadiens in 2013.
