Remembered for his tough guy character roles in films and television series such as Alien 3 and The Sweeney, this British actor also had a stage career, starring in professional London productions of George Bernard Shaw's Saint Joan and Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. After graduating from the University of Sheffield, he pursued a professional wrestling career. Before becoming an actor, he also worked for more than a decade as a schoolteacher.
