Cowboy poet whose best-known works include Horseshoes, Cowsocks, and Duckfeet; Legacy of the Rodeo Man; and The Buckskin Mare. He also had a career as a veterinarian for farm and ranch animals. He attended New Mexico State University and Colorado State University.
